Photography has always been a passion of mine but as a high school teacher I have had to relegate it to a hobby due to lack of time. I am now retired and entering the field full time. My years as a biologist gives me a special appreciation for the intricate beauty found in nature. My specialties are scenic shots, pets, and nature macrophotography. I am currently using a Nikon 5000D camera with attachments. I shoot RAW images to conserve as much detail as possible and make adjustments in Photoshop. I am not your typical commercial stock photography artist. I look for the wonder and uniqueness in each scene and try to bring that out in my photographs. Every view of life has something to say. That is what I try to capture with every shot. There is beauty in the most mundane things around us if we only look for it. Whether boating up the Intercoastal Waterway, trekking through mangrove swamps, or getting on the ground way too close to an alligator or rattlesnake, I love every minute of it. The richness and excitement of nature inspires me and fills me with joy. I hope these photographs will pass along a little of that feeling to you as well. My journey is just beginning and I look forward each day to new discoveries to capture in my lens.
